Chris and Christ. Two beautiful generosity stories. Each reminds us that generosity is a choice.

Humility is best achieved through hidden acts of service. Like a special ingredient, you may not know its name, but it’s the very thing that takes something from good to great.

Faithfulness is not an attitude, or even an action, it is a character trait fashioned from a heart that consistently serves the interests of others rather than pursue quick personal gain.

We feel like we have to “work” our way into heaven. Eventually it all becomes too much. We burn out and crash. God is more concerned about how much we do with him than how much we do for him.

Heaven should be passionately desired, because God is there and he’s exceedingly desirable. Our hearts should yearn for heaven because they yearn for God.

Transformative power is released when Christ’s church, through the grace of his Holy Spirit, clothes itself in humility, obedience and love.

The first step toward life-giving community is to decide to love others, at least as much as we love ourselves, and perhaps even more. 

What’s your plan on Earth? Are you here to serve or to be served? 

Obedience is most enjoyable when we are secure in our identity in God.
