How Open Are You, Really?

The first criterion for full participation in Christ is openness. Opening our hearts and availing ourselves of God’s Spirit, God’s grace, God’s direction and God’s power. We have to learn to receive. A.W. Tozer used the word, “Receptivity.” He wrote:

Receptivity is not a single thing; rather, it is a compound, a blending of several elements within the soul. It is an affinity for, a bent toward, a sympathetic response to, a desire to have. It is not a sovereign and irresistible force which comes upon us as a seizure from above. It is a gift of God, indeed, but one which must be recognized and cultivated as any other gift.

How open are you to God? On a scale from 1 to 10, how willing are you to have him speak into your life and change everything or anything? Do you think he might ask you to change some things? Are you afraid of his suggestions or do you welcome them? Why or why not?
