In 1997 I recorded my first worship album. Worship was not as popular as it is now. Doing an all worship album was a statement back then that singing songs to God was more important than singing songs about God. My favorite songs on this album are BEFORE THE KING (which I wrote in 10 minutes, no kidding) and REST (which I wrote only moments before we recorded it) and THE FATHER’S DAY (recorded live at a Christian cafe in Denton, Texas called Joshua House, I still sing this lively song with my family).

Another bit of trivia: the 2nd verse on I LIVE TO LOVE YOU was completely spontaneous. Also, check out the hidden track at the end of the last song, THE CALL, it’s a fun song about how I met my wife, Megan.
