God Likes You
I made seesaw when my kids were little. It was not a work of art. It was not something that could launch an international seesaw business. It was just a simple mechanism built for my kids’ enjoyment out of old boards in the back of my yard. My kids mounted that seesaw as if it were the best toy they’d ever seen. I was proud of my creation. It was rugged, slightly disproportional and desperately in need of a paint-job. But it was a good idea. It was my idea. It was working. And I liked it.
When God created mankind he said it was very good (Gen1:31). He was proud of his idea. He liked it. And you know what, he still does, especially when he sees his idea doing what he designed it to do – loving him and loving others.
“The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: ‘I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness’” (Jeremiah 31:3).
You might not feel like a work of art. You might feel rugged, slightly disproportional and in a need of more than a new paint-job, but when God looks at you, one of his favorite inventions, he likes you. In fact, he loves you. Why wouldn’t he? After all, you’re his idea.
By the way, it’s my birthday tomorrow. It would bless me to hear from you. Let me know on my Facebook page or Instagram feed or comment on my Youtube channel if you read this blog and it blessed you.
